STARLIGHT CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION: HEALTHIER FUTURE INITIATIVE TRIP TO KUNUNURRA

Remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children face some of the highest rates of preventable diseases globally, often due to limited access to healthcare services and anxiety surrounding clinic visits, particularly among young patients. Starlight's Healthier Futures Initiative addresses these challenges by deploying Captain Starlight to remote community health clinics. Through interactive activities like song, dance, games, and storytelling, Captain Starlight provides positive distractions that encourage children to participate in healthcare appointments. This approach not only enhances the clinic experience but also strengthens community engagement with the healthcare system. ToyBox is excited to have been able to fund a Healthier Future Initiative Trip to Kununurra, donating $62,500, making the trip possible and changing the lives of sick and disadvantaged children in regional WA.
