SPARKING CONVERSATIONS THAT MATTER: BLUE TREE PROJECT INITIATIVES

At ToyBox Australia, we believe that creating real, lasting change starts with supporting grassroots organisations who are out in the community doing the work — every day. That’s why we were proud to provide a grant to the Blue Tree Project from the funds raised through the Bunker Bay 300 Classic 2024, helping expand their reach and impact in the mental health space.

Founded in 2019, Blue Tree Project exists to spark vital conversations around mental health and empower individuals to speak up when they’re struggling. Thanks to your generous support, our funding has helped Blue Tree Project roll out four key initiatives to strengthen their mental health support efforts.

• FACILTATOR TRAINING

  Using the ToyBox grant, Blue Tree Project was able to train a new in-house facilitator to deliver Mental Health First Aid Courses. This marks a huge step forward, not only enabling them to offer certified training but also begin developing short-form workshops that can reach even more individuals in need of mental health education and support.

• PUBLIC EVENT ACTIVATION

  Getting out into the community is what Blue Tree Project does best. Thanks to your donations, they were able to activate a vibrant, interactive stall at the Coogee Live Festival, a family-friendly event where attendees helped paint symbolic blue trees and engage in open conversations about mental health. These real-world interactions are where connection and healing begin.

• DEVELOPING RESOURCES

  Blue Tree Project has become a trusted place for individuals seeking support, and to meet this demand, they developed their own ‘Help Directory’. This curated, accessible guide connects people with tailored, up-to-date resources and services—free of charge—helping bridge the gap between asking for help and receiving it.

• BTP GROWING PAINS

  As the charity continues to grow, so does the need for space. ToyBox’s funding allowed Blue Tree Project to secure much-needed external storage, easing the pressure on their current office setup and enabling the team to continue working effectively. It’s the behind-the-scenes support like this that ensures the front-line work keeps moving forward.
